SELF CLINCHING STUD

A SELF CLINCHING STUD is a fastening stud designed to be pressed into a pre-punched hole in thin sheet metal. It may also be referred to as a clinch bolt or press-fit stud. During installation, the serrations beneath the head bite into the sheet material while the surrounding metal flows into the annular groove, securely locking the stud in place and providing a stable external thread for subsequent fastening.

Secure Anti-Rotation After Installation

The serrations beneath the head engage with the sheet material, increasing resistance to rotation and push-out. This helps prevent the stud from turning together with the nut during fastening.

Creates External Threads in Thin Sheet Metal

A SELF CLINCHING STUD provides a stable external threaded fastening point in thin sheet materials that are not suitable for direct tapping, increasing flexibility for subsequent component assembly.

Low-Profile Head for a Flush Installation

The low-profile head can be embedded into the sheet surface, reducing protrusion on the reverse side and making it suitable for structures with limited internal space or where a flatter surface is preferred.

No Welding Required

Installation is completed through a clinching process, helping reduce welding-related heat deformation, weld spatter, and subsequent surface finishing requirements.

Improves High-Volume Assembly Efficiency

SELF CLINCHING STUDS can be quickly installed using stamping presses or automated equipment and are commonly used in enclosures, cabinets, home appliances, automotive components, and electronic equipment.
