E-RING

An E-RING is a shaft-retaining component shaped approximately like the letter “E.” It may also be referred to as an E-Type Retaining Ring. Installed into an annular groove on the outside of a shaft, it helps limit the axial movement of components such as gears, bearings, pulleys, and bushings.

Product Name: E-RING / E-Type Retaining Ring

Fast Axial Retention

An E-RING can be pressed into a pre-machined groove from the side of the shaft without having to slide it on from the shaft end, making it suitable for mechanisms that have already been partially assembled.

Stable Three-Prong Engagement

The three internal contact prongs engage with the shaft groove to create multiple retaining points, helping restrict axial movement and prevent components from slipping off the shaft.

Saves Installation Space

The thin-profile structure occupies relatively little axial space and can reduce the need for nuts, washers, and other retaining components.

Convenient Assembly and Maintenance

E-RINGS can be installed and removed using retaining-ring tools or other suitable installation tools, making them suitable for high-volume assembly and equipment requiring periodic maintenance.

Wide Range of Applications

E-RINGS are commonly used in motors, gears, pulleys, bearings, home appliances, electronic equipment, automotive and motorcycle components, and automation mechanisms.
