U-RING

A U-RING is an open retaining component made from metal sheet or elastic wire and shaped approximately like the letter “U.” It can be installed from the side onto a shaft, pin, or specified groove, using its own spring force to provide positioning, stopping, and retention against component disengagement.

Product Name: U-RING / U-Shaped Retaining Clip / U-Clip
Product Structure: U-shaped opening, dual-leg clamping structure, or spring-clip structure
Primary Functions: Positioning, stopping, retention, and elastic clamping
Applicable Positions: Shafts, pins, sheet components, or specified retaining grooves
Dimensions: Selected according to shaft diameter, groove width, and available installation space
Opening Size: Determined according to the outside diameter of the mating component and required clamping force
Thickness or Wire Diameter: Selected according to retaining load and elasticity requirements
End Types: Flat end, chamfered end, flared end, or other specified shapes
Materials: Spring steel, carbon steel, stainless steel, or other specified materials
Heat Treatment: Applied according to hardness, elasticity, and fatigue-resistance requirements
Surface Treatments: Zinc plating, nickel plating, black oxide, phosphate coating, passivation, or other specified finishes
Production Methods: Stamping, bending, wire forming, and heat treatment
Production Options: Standard specifications or custom production based on drawings

Quick Side Installation

The U-shaped opening allows the U-RING to be pushed directly into a shaft groove or mating position from the side, without having to slide it on from the end of the shaft, helping simplify the assembly process.

Elastic Clamping Retention

After installation, the dual legs or spring-clip structure continuously apply clamping force, helping the U-RING remain securely engaged with the mating component.

Prevents Components from Becoming Detached

A U-RING can limit axial or lateral movement of shafts, pins, bushings, and connecting components, helping reduce the possibility of loosening or disengagement during operation.

Saves Installation Space

The thin open structure occupies relatively little space and can reduce the need for nuts, washers, and other retaining components.

Supports Custom Structural Designs

Opening width, leg length, thickness, bending angle, and material can be customized according to the installation position. U-RINGS are commonly used in machinery, automotive and motorcycle components, electronic equipment, and furniture hardware.
